Storm Damage & This Sunday's Events

Storm Damage Recovery
The damage from the storms this past weekend is widespread across Bulloch County and the surrounding areas. Many families need assistance in cleaning and clearing items after the storm, and several efforts are underway to provide the needed assistance. Would you be willing to volunteer some of your time to help these local families in need? Missions is not just something we do on the other side of the world—it is also something we must do right here at home. The need that exists after these storms is an opportunity for us to do some local missions—in our own Jerusalem—demonstrating to Bulloch County that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. If you are willing to assist in some of the various projects in this local area, please contact Katherine Rountree via email at katherine@fbc-statesboro.org or phone 489-7900. By serving our local community during this time of need, we share Christ’s love in a real and tangible way. It’s time to do missions, starting right here at home.

Graduate Recognition Sunday
Congratulations to all of the graduating high school seniors and their families! Each of our graduates will be honored this Sunday during the 11:00 a.m. worship service in the Perry Fellowship Hall. Reaching this milestone is a significant achievement in the lives of these students, and it is fitting and proper that we celebrate this accomplish with them.

Youth Musical – Sunday Night
As the capstone to this year’s work in the youth choir, our middle and high school students will be presenting the musical Courage to Stand during the 6:30 p.m. worship service in the sanctuary. Based upon the biblical story of Esther, this musical was written by the students themselves and includes some original music composed by them too. They have been writing, rehearsing, and preparing for this presentation for months, so I trust you will be present for this modern-day story of Esther, who had the “courage to stand.”
