FamilyFEST at FBC

This past Sunday night was our first evening of FamilyFEST. The night was well attended, with adults, teenagers, children, and preschoolers attending classes and workshops about a variety of issues related to families. One of the core values of FBC Statesboro is our commitment to healthy families, so we host FamilyFEST annually as a learning and growing experience for the families in our church and community. This, of course, is not the only family event at FBC Statesboro, but it is a unique experience stretching over several weeks. Would anyone in today’s world doubt that families are facing many pressures and issues? None of us have perfect families, of course, but I am glad that FBC Statesboro cares enough about the families in our congregation to offer such an experience.

At the close of the FamilyFEST workshops, we all gathered in the Multipurpose Room for ice cream sundaes. Each person was able to choose from a variety of ice cream flavors and a range of toppings, and it was a great concluding fellowship to our initial week of FamilyFEST. It was great to see young parents mixing with older adults, and to see children walking, playing, and enjoying being part of a church family. To mix the congregational families in a time like that is very, very important to the health of the church, and I greatly appreciate everyone who helped make this first week a success. Here are some pictures of the ice cream sundae fellowship:
